Our Engine Conversion Standards
There are many Vanagon engine conversions on the market and Transporter Werks has seen many of them, from Tiico VW inline-four gas engines to Subaru boxer engines, to TDI Diesel engines.
Transporter Werks has been doing Engine Conversions for Over 20 Years. Every Vanagon Restoration starts with the engine and transmission. For example, all new never run factory VW diesel and gas engines. Our Subaru engines are rebuilt using only OEM factory dealer parts, making them reliable and easy to drive.

How it started
About
Transporter Werks
Transporter Werks is a specialty shop for VW® Vanagons. No project is too small or too large for us to tackle.
Sean Fraser established Transporter Werks in 1995. He always had an interest in VWs, dating back to 1986 when he bought his first car–a 1969 auto stick. At that time, he did not have the money to pay for the mechanical care of the car so he was forced to teach himself. One thing led to another, and he fell in love! Before establishing Transporter Werks, Sean was studying to become a biology teacher and was supporting himself by working on VWs on the side.
